Wispr Flow's pricing page says you never need a credit card to start, and that you can cancel Pro at any time.
How the free plan's word limit works
- 2,000 words a week on desktop. At about 150 words a minute, that's roughly 13 minutes of talking each week.
- Counts reset on Sunday at 12 a.m. Pacific Time, according to Wispr Flow's help center. Unused words don't carry over.
- Desktop and mobile are counted separately. Mobile has its own limit of 1,000 words a week.
- After a Pro trial ends, the account moves to the free plan and the weekly limit applies straight away.

A free alternative: WhisperWrite
WhisperWrite works the same way as Wispr Flow: hold a key, speak, and your words are typed into whatever app you're using. It's free to use, with no weekly word limit, no subscription and no account. Speech is turned into text on your Mac, so it works offline.
The trade-offs: WhisperWrite is for Macs with Apple Silicon only, it works in English for now, and AI editing uses your own Anthropic key. If you need Windows, iPhone, Android or other languages, Wispr Flow covers them.
